On the way, in the van.

Hiking down the access road to the Pico Blanco camp, above the Little Sur river drainage. Nice and warm- it'll be good to get into the redwoods.
Or the pines...
Here's the valley- we drop down to the river then hike up the watershed. The Little Sur is designated as a Wild and Scenic River; it still has good runs of steelhead. We saw one in a pool.
We got to the camp without seeing another person. Big Sur...

Then headed upriver to find the rumored swimming hole.

Cooold water. Back to camp for a fire and some dinner.

Hike out the next day. Stop at the boy scout camp, which has a large lake with a dock and some picnic tables for a swim, lunch, and some rest.

Who knew you could soak couscous in cold water and it would soften up?
(Becky knew)All in all a good quick overnighter.
