Summer finally arrived in earnest so anchoring out really sounded appealing. The boat has good ground tackle (over 100' chain plus a 7.5 kg Bruce) and there's a pretty protected anchorage behind the Santa Cruz wharf, so out we went. Nice day in the sun until the fog rolled in.
There's the wharf. There's a little dinghy dock there if you want to go to lunch there or spend the night on the hook (as many do). There's the boardwalk in the background. You can hear the screams from the rides. I took the opportunity to scrub the bottom of the boat, which wasn't really too bad (but a couple of good sized mussels) Not so warm without a wetsuit. On the way back in the wind died and we came across this gull sitting on a floating chunk of wood, waiting for something to happen.
